First Prize: $1000.
Second Prize: $500.
Third Prize: $250.
BACKGROUND: Intergenerational relationships in the U.S. and Russia are extremely beneficial. If you can write a 1500-word essay that expands on reasons, based on research, why it is so important, you could win $1000! Essays must offer a cross cultural perspective.
TOPIC: What can older generations learn from your generation? (For example, areas that could be explored include but are not limited to transportation, public health, the environment, education, parenting techniques, etc…)
This contest is open to students in high school through the first year of college.
Essay must offer a cross cultural perspective displaying an awareness of different view points of Russian and American societies. Essay must contain at least 1500 words and include a bibliography. Essay must demonstrate research: It must include 5 or more citations from scholarly sources. All quotations must be credited. Consult the PURDUE OWL SITE as a guideline for citing sources quoted in your essay and for setting up a Reference List or Bibliography at the end.
